Department of Internal Medicine — a physician at the very first point of contact for most of our patients, known for a thoughtful, patient-centred approach to everyday care, from managing seasonal illnesses to guiding patients through long-term conditions with clarity and compassion. Doctor Spotlight— Dr. Abhishek Tater Did you know? About the Department of Internal Medicine The backbone of adult patient care — handling the prevention, diagnosis, and management of illnesses affecting the body's internal systems. From everyday concerns like fever and seasonal infections to the long-term management of diabetes, hypertension, thyroid, and cardiac conditions, it serves as the first point of contact for most patients and coordinates care across specialties when needed. Monsoon Health: Doctor’s Tip ‘‘The monsoon season brings a clear rise in several common illnesses. The humid weather triggers coughs, colds, and skin infections, and I see more respiratory and viral infections through these months. The wet conditions also raise the risk of slip-and-fall injuries, and vector-borne diseases like malaria and dengue become far more common. Watch closely for the early warning signs — high fever, shortness of breath, or falling oxygen levels. There's no fixed rule for how many days a fever should last before you see a doctor; it varies from person to person and depends on the underlying illness. So don't delay if your symptoms are getting worse. To stay well through the season, eat seasonal fruits, keep your hydration up with plenty of liquids, and avoid fried foods. Above all, build healthy habits into your daily routine — exercise regularly, eat fresh fruits and vegetables, and never self-medicate.’’ Pre-Monsoon Fruits: Nature’s Nutritional Shield JAMUN Antioxidants, iron Immunity & digestion WATERMELON Water, vitamin C Hydration MUSKMELON Potassium, vitamin C Hydration & immunity MANGO Carotenoids, vitamin C Cell protection Protein-Packed Breakfast ‘’Don’t skip breakfast to “cut calories”. It often backfires leading to overeating later in the day. Instead go for Protein Rich First Meal. Aim for at least 15–20 g of protein in your breakfast for a healthy start.’’ Fermented Curd Rice : A Simple Meal with Powerful Gut Benefits Curd rice made from overnight-soaked rice and traditionally fermented curd, especially when prepared in a clay pot, is naturally rich in beneficial probiotics. These healthy bacteria support gut health, improve digestion, enhance nutrient absorption, and may help protect against common digestive issues during the monsoon season. Its light and easily digestible nature makes it an ideal monsoon-friendly food. Nutritionist’s Tip— Dr. Debarati Bhatacharjee
THE CARE THE PROGRESS The Cobas Pure Analyser New at Our Hospital: Upgraded Diagnostic Capabilities Community Outreach: Police Health & Wellness Programme ‘‘At Medipulse, our commitment has always been to provide the very best critical care in Jodhpur. Today, our hospital is equipped with 72 ICU beds supported by two full-time intensivists, and offers in-built dialysis within the ICU — the first facility of its kind. As a superspecialty hospital with comprehensive in-house services, I take particular pride in the experience our patients receive, where nearly everything they need is available under one roof. We have successfully performed three kidney transplants to date, and recently added advanced diagnostics including gastro manometry testing and frozen section for cancer evaluation.’’ As part of its commitment to community health, we’re running an ongoing Police Health & Wellness Programme for police personnel in Jodhpur. The initiative provides comprehensive health screening through dedicated camps, covering blood investigations, vision and cardiac assessments, physical fitness evaluation, nutritional guidance, and more. The programme is designed to support the well-being of those who serve the community, helping detect health concerns early and encouraging preventive care. Through these efforts, the hospital aims to extend quality healthcare beyond its walls and build a culture of health awareness and prevention within the police force. From the Medical Superintendent's Desk— Dr. Bakhtawer Singh Sodha The hospital has strengthened its diagnostic services with the addition of new state-of-the-art equipment. A new ultrasonography (USG) machine was installed this month, enhancing our imaging capabilities and enabling faster, more accurate diagnoses for patients. In the laboratory, the recently acquired Cobas Pure analyser— one of only three in Jodhpur; has significantly upgraded our pathology services, allowing a wide range of biochemistry and immunoassay tests to be performed in-house with greater speed and precision. These investments reflect the hospital's ongoing commitment to bringing advanced, reliable diagnostic care closer to our patients.
Our quality journey over the past six months has been marked by remarkable achievements, including NABH 6th Edition, NABL renewal, NABH Digital Platinum, and NABH Blood Bank 3rd Edition accreditations. A Commitment to Quality A Father's Successful Cardiac Care "I extend my sincere gratitude to the Singhi family and the entire team of Medipulse Hospital for my father's successful cardiac angiography. The procedure was conducted smoothly and he was discharged the very next day, resting comfortably at home. My special thanks to Dr. Saurav Bansal for performing the angiography with great skill and care, and to the staff for their seamless coordination with our family. The CCU team deserves appreciation for their compassionate care. Having witnessed the facilities firsthand, I can confidently say Medipulse offers excellent medical care in Jodhpur; professional, timely, and patient-centric." — Family of a cardiac patient Patient Voices What's New: A Dedicated Isolation ICU Compassionate Kidney Care "My mother began suffering from kidney disease, with reduced urine output, swelling in her legs, and difficulty walking. We consulted Dr. Mayank Jain, and were impressed by how clearly he explained her condition and treatment plan; his diagnosis and guidance gave us confidence. During her admission, the junior residents and the senior nursing staff took excellent care of her and were cooperative throughout her stay. We are truly grateful to Dr. Mayank Jain and the entire team for their dedicated care, kindness, and support." — Family of a kidney-care patient Adding to this pride, our hospital received the NABH Digital Excellence Award at the National Patient Safety Conference 2025. Following our digital accreditation, the NHA and NABH teams visited our hospital to understand our successful ABDM and ABHA integration model, where we currently stand No. 1 in Rajasthan. These milestones reflect our commitment to patient safety, digital innovation, standardisation, and quality-driven healthcare delivery in daily practice. A specialised unit built to care for patients who need intensive monitoring alongside strict infection control. Designed with dedicated infrastructure and protocols to prevent cross-infection, the unit allows our team to manage vulnerable and infectious cases safely, without compromising the care of other patients. Strengthening our critical care, one step further.
